Strategic Space Solutions
Expertise in Propulsion and Launchers
Avibras Aeroco provides technological solutions for the civil space sector, supplying suborbital vehicles, rocket engines, propulsion systems, electronics, and embedded software.
With proven industrial and operational capabilities at the Alcântara (CLA) and Barreira do Inferno (CLBI) launch centers, Brazil’s main space infrastructures, the company stands out as a private integrator of launchers and rockets within the Brazilian Space Program, contributing to the strengthening of national technological autonomy in the space sector.
Training Rockets
The AV-FTI and AV-FTB Training Rockets are single-stage vehicles developed for operational training at launch centres, equipped with S-band telemetry systems for conducting scientific and technological experiments. Launches are carried out regularly from the Barreira do Inferno Launch Centre (CLBI) in Rio Grande do Norte and the Alcântara Launch Centre (CLA) in Maranhão.
Solid Rocket Motors (SRM)
Avibras Aeroco is a benchmark in the development and manufacture of solid-propellant rocket motors, with extensive industrial experience and a portfolio of flight-qualified products. Its propulsion systems meet the highest standards of performance, reliability and safety, and are available for delivery within competitive timeframes.
The line includes engines with different diameters, metal or composite structures, varied propellant loads and thrust levels suitable for suborbital and space applications.
In addition to its consolidated portfolio, Avibras offers engineering capabilities for the development of tailor-made solutions, sized according to the specific performance, mission and integration requirements defined by the customer.
S50 Solid Rocket Motor
The S50 is a solid-propellant rocket motor currently under development for space applications in civil launch vehicles, such as the VLM-1, and suborbital platforms, such as the VS-50. Measuring 1.5 metres in diameter and 5.5 metres in length, the engine has a carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) structure, providing high structural efficiency and reduced mass.
Strategic Inputs for Solid Propellants
Ammonium Perchlorate
Ammonium perchlorate (PCA) is supplied in different grain sizes (fine, medium, and coarse) and is an essential and strategic input for the manufacture of composite solid propellants used in rockets.
It is also widely used in the production of industrial explosives for civil applications, such as mining and engineering works, meeting high standards of quality and performance.
Hydroxyl-Terminated Polybutadiene (HTPB)
Polymeric resin based on hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB), used as a binder in the formulation of composite solid propellants for rockets. The material provides mechanical properties, stability, and energetic performance suitable for solid propulsion systems and other specialized industrial applications.
