On Thursday, 16 July, Avibras Aeroco held a working meeting at its industrial site in Jacareí (SP) with general officers and other senior officials from the Brazilian Army (EB) who head strategic organisations in defence, technology, manufacturing, and artillery. The aim was to discuss existing contracts and new opportunities for cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Brigadier General Carlos Alexandre Bastos de Vasconcellos, Director of Manufacturing (DF) for the EB; Brigadier General Sandro Ernesto Gomes, Army Artillery Commander; Brigadier General (Ret.) Marcelo Gurgel do Amaral Silva, Manager of the Army’s ASTROS-FOGOS Strategic Programme; Brigadier General (Ret.) Moisés da Paixão Júnior, Manager of the Army’s Field Artillery Subprogramme; and members of the Commission for Knowledge Absorption and Technology Transfer (CACTTAV) at Avibras Aeroco, Lieutenant-Colonel Eduardo Bento Guerra and Captain Eduardo Henrique dos Santos.
During the meeting, a presentation was given on the current status of Avibras Aeroco’s activities, its industrial, technological and production capabilities, as well as the prospects for strengthening cooperation with the Brazilian Army. The discussions also reinforced the alignment between the institutions and their mutual commitment to the continuation of strategic defence programmes, national sovereignty and the development of Brazil’s defence industrial base.
