On Wednesday, 26 August, Avibras Aeroco welcomed a visit to its manufacturing facility in Jacareí (SP) from the Head of the Brazilian Army’s Department of Science and Technology (DCT), Lieutenant General Hertz Pires do Nascimento. The delegation was accompanied by the Head of the DCT’s Planning and Management Office, Major General Erb Lyra Leal, and the Head of the Defence and Security Technology Park in Campinas, Brigadier General Douglas Corbari Correa.
The delegation toured various areas of the company and learnt about its engineering, industrial and product certification capabilities, with particular emphasis on its expertise in propulsion and the integration of state-of-the-art intelligent defence systems.
The DCT is the Sectoral Directorate of the Army Command, whose mission is to deliver the scientific and technological solutions needed to implement capabilities within the Force, in accordance with the Army’s policies, plans and strategic guidelines.
The visit reinforces the importance of the link between the defence industry and the institutions responsible for technological development and generating strategic capabilities for the country, contributing to strengthening the defence industrial base and national sovereignty.
