Caring for people also means creating spaces to inform, listen, and welcome. With this aim in mind, Avibras Aeroco organised a special event on Thursday 29 October to mark Pink October, bringing together the company’s female staff for breakfast and a discussion on ‘Breast Cancer Prevention and Women’s Health’.
The occupational health doctor, José Eduardo Nunes Gomes, and the nurse, Jucileia Ribeiro, led the session and shared key guidance on breast cancer prevention and holistic women’s health care.
During the discussion, the health team highlighted habits that contribute to a healthier lifestyle and disease prevention, such as regular physical activity, a balanced diet, and looking after one’s mental health. They also emphasised the importance of regular medical check-ups and paying attention to one’s own body’s signals.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for female staff members to ask questions and share experiences. This opportunity for dialogue made the initiative even more special, strengthening the bond between the participants.
The initiative reinforces the importance of fostering a working environment that is increasingly inclusive, welcoming and attentive to employees’ needs. By encouraging dialogue and broadening access to information, the company helps ensure that health care is a priority not only during Pink October, but throughout the year.
