Avibras Aeroco takes part in a ceremony to mark the 72nd anniversary of the IAE

On Friday 16 October, Avibras Aeroco took part in the military ceremony marking the 72nd anniversary of the Institute of Aeronautics and Space (IAE), held in São José dos Campos (SP). The company was represented by Fábio Nakagawa, director of operations, and Lucimara Sales Rocha Lino, contracts manager.

The IAE and Avibras Aeroco have a long-standing partnership on strategic projects in the Brazilian space sector. Among these initiatives is the VLM-1 (Microsatellite Launch Vehicle), a project developed by the IAE in which Avibras Aeroco is involved in the development and industrialisation of the S50 thrusters.

The S50 is the largest rocket engine ever manufactured in Brazil, with a capacity of 12 tonnes of solid propellant, and features innovative technologies for the Brazilian Space Programme, such as the use of carbon fibre in the production of the engine casing, making it lighter and more efficient.

Avibras Aeroco congratulates the IAE on its 72-year history and emphasises its pride in being part of this history as a partner in strategic projects within the Brazilian space sector. For the company, the partnership with the institute reflects their joint contribution to the development of technologies and capabilities that have shaped the evolution of aeronautics, defence and the space sector in Brazil.
