On Wednesday 7 October, Avibras Aeroco welcomed a delegation from the Missile and Rocket Artillery Training Centre (CI Art Msl Fgt), a military organisation under the Brazilian Army Artillery Command.
As a leading centre for training and operational deployment of the ASTROS System, the Centre plays a strategic role in training military personnel to operate, maintain, plan, and manage the long-range rocket and missile artillery system developed and manufactured by Avibras Aeroco.
Led by the Centre’s commander, Colonel Alexandre Borges Villa Treinta, the delegation comprised training officers and students from the integrated course for General Staff officers, who visited the company’s production areas and engineering facilities. During the visit, the military personnel learnt about Avibras Aeroco’s industrial and technological capabilities and its potential for collaboration with the Armed Forces, particularly in the missile and rocket sectors.
The programme also facilitated knowledge exchange between the company and the Training Centre, reinforcing the importance of integrating the defence industry with the Brazilian Army to develop and enhance the Land Force’s operational capabilities.
At the end of the visit, Colonel Villa presented the chairman of Avibras Aeroco, Sami Hassuani, with a copy of the book A Brief History of Rocket Artillery. The publication traces the history, challenges, and achievements of the Brazilian Artillery, a history that is linked to Avibras Aeroco’s legacy, built upon decades of contributions to the development of national rocket and missile technology and to the strengthening of the Land Force’s capabilities.
