DEPCOM visit highlights the importance of Avibras Aeroco in the international defence market

A delegation from the Department of Trade Promotion (DEPCOM) of the Secretariat for Defence Products (SEPROD) at the Ministry of Defence (MD) visited Avibras Aeroco’s Jacareí site on Wednesday, 19 August, to learn about the company’s production and technological capabilities.

DEPCOM operates primarily in international markets, seeking new opportunities for the Brazilian Defence Industrial Base (BID), as well as coordinating and supporting events, trade fairs, delegations and dialogues that contribute to the commercial promotion of the defence industry’s products, services and technologies. It is also responsible, within the Ministry of Defence, for the analysis and authorisation of exports of Defence Products (PRODE) and Strategic Defence Products (PED), in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The delegation comprised Brigadier General Luís Cláudio Brion Cardoso, Director of DEPCOM; the department’s General Coordinator, Arthur Diniz Marra; and Army Colonel (Ret.), Lídio Rubens Soares da Cunha, Coordinator of DEPCOM.

The visit strengthens the importance of joint action between Avibras Aeroco and DEPCOM, particularly given the company’s long-standing focus on the international market. As an exporter of defence and space products and technologies, Avibras Aeroco, a strategic defence company, recognises the Department’s importance in trade promotion and in identifying opportunities that help to expand the Brazilian defence industry’s presence abroad.
